Who we are

We welcome you to Clarkson – a community rich and proud of its heritage and a community strong in its faith. We at New Zion Presbyterian Church welcome you as well, whether you are new to our community or just visiting with family or friends. We invite you to join with us in worship and service as we seek to serve our God in our community, in our country and in our world.
We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) led by the Holy Spirit of God seeking to follow the Word of God that is found in the example of Jesus Christ and in Holy Scripture. As we grow in the written Word we are challenged to share this message in our actions and in our words we share as followers and disciples of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We strive to do this in our worship, in our education program for all ages, in our service to our communities and in our mission work beyond our four walls.

Pastor Michele

The Rev. Michele Monroe came to New Zion Presbyterian Church April 1, 2022. She has had an amazing career that began in social work working with children and families in crisis and now has her preaching the Good News of Jesus the Christ each Sunday in the power of the Holy Spirit. She spent several years as a Chaplain in behavioral health and acute care hospitals. She holds master’s degrees in social work and divinity (pastoral studies). She is the mother of two wonderful adult children. She is a beloved daughter of God who was born and raised in the Suburbs of Chicago. Her greatest desire is for each person to encounter the risen Jesus, to know how loved they are, and for each of us to live in the power of that love.
